Found another article about setting up a mail system with the above mentioned apps. I’m still using dovecot and plain text files, but I’m sure for larger systems mysql is a good idea to keep track of accounts.

Arstechnica has a nice article about using Ruby with libpcap. Reading it you can learn how to write a basic AIM sniffer. It’s a great read!
